Brick wall afternoons

It's been a long time since I've uploaded something, hasn't it? Well, I certainly hope this makes up for the wait (that is, if anyone has been waiting ^-^) and I hope to have some more art very soon as I have some time off from work!

Those of you who know my characters will recognise this as Kharis Starfire, son of Alex and Sapphire and older brother of Aura. He is, I think, around nine years old in this picture and is posing for his mother on the wall surrounding their cottage with the backdrop of their village of Green Hill. I've given him a new outfit here, which I think turned out well, but unlike my plans to redesign many of my characters, have not changed his appearance - I've always seen Kharis as being very similar to both his father and sister in that way (to the consternation of their mother ^^), though I have given his cheek fluff an upwards flick - oh and the way I do the cheek fluff was very much inspired by *devBlushBunnyC3* See girl! You are an inspiration!

I ended up doing quite a detailed background for this picture - I'd forgotten just how much I enjoy doing these - and tried to give it a slightly alien-y feel to make it look like Mobius - hence the purple and deep red trees, which exist even in summer and the sky, which is more purple, even in daytime, than on Earth. I also gave the buildings some shading, which I think turned out well, especially on the tiles of the roofs.

The Mobian fruit on the foremost tree doesn't have a name yet - it was going to be a canter nut tree (Aura's food addiction) but somehow it just doesn't seem to fit. Feel free to suggest a name.
